How dominance is calculated

K-means clusters every pixel into color groups. The cluster with the largest pixel count is the dominant color. Set the cluster count to 1-2 for a strong dominant; 5-7 for a full palette.

Is the dominant color always the best accent?

Usually yes, but a slightly less common color often gives more contrast and pairs better with the dominant as the base.
